Computer ate my vote

WIRED -- One week after the Irish Minister for Local Government asked what people think about e-voting, Ben Cohen of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream launched "The Computer Ate My Vote" campaign, to lobby for increased security in electronic voting machines. The Irish government has published very little information about the system it intends to ram into the voting process. Anton O Lachtnain put several thoughtful questions to the Chairman of the Irish e-Voting Research Group and they should merit a prompt response.

Antoin asked some insightful questions before giving a meaningful submission to the commission.

  • technical documentation for the system
  • source code for all parts of the system
  • test plans and results of tests
  • operational manuals and training materials
  • contracts and contractual arrangements regarding the system

I have issues concerning the technical support of the system and would add those concerns to O Lachtnain's wish list.
