MP3 ringtone converter

CLONMEL -- We need ways to convert MP3s into ringtones and help is at hand. There's no copyright problem because you make personal use out of 10% from a recording (but no more than 30 seconds of a song) and still respect the law.

Cory Doctorow found an application that converts MP3 files into ringtones. This does not please the music industry. "It's problematic, because it has the potential to eviscerate the business model early in its development,'' said Ted Cohen, EMI Music's senior vice president of digital development and distribution.

Your phone must be able to play MP3 ringtones to avail of this service.

9 Jun 04 Update. From Bernie Goldbach: I have received two reports that indicate Xingtone does not work witht the Irish mobile phone networks.
