Rising Blog Count
TECHNORATI -- You could guess that the number of Irish blogs was increasing by the cross-talk about blogs on Irish mailing lists, on mainstream radio shows and in broadsheets. Casually checking Technorati shows the same conclusion, among the 500,000 posts per day that Technorati checks. Dave Sifry also offers a system-wide view of conversations among bloggers. He graphically depicts the activity.
- Technorati records 5.8 posts per second.
- Posting dropped after the American Presidential election.
- Across the world, people started blogging in December.
To get an idea whether people actually read blogs, you can often check to see the number of subscribers the blog has on services like Bloglines. More than 100 subscriptions generally means more than 1000 daily visitors.
