Hot Pocket in Cork
MY POCKET is as warm as a lap holding an Apple Powerbook. That means my N70 is hanging several applications and that renders its Bluetooth connection worthless. I don't have my PIN so I cannot cold-start the phone. So there won't be any more running commentary from me at the IT@cork conference. I've mentioned this to Tom Raftery and the upshot is that Keith Bohanna is the sole live blogger during the remaining IT@Cork sessions.
And I will keep a little more order in my camera bag from now on because of a "hot key" incident that unfolded a little after the conference concluded. I pulled my house keys out of my camera bag and they were as hot as a fried egg on a Phoenix sidewalk. It turned out that my keys had shorted out a 9V battery inside the camera bag. The keys were too hot to handle. The battery had started leaking from its bottom. This little incident has changed how I will stow gear in my gadget bag.
