A FEW DAYS AGO, when the IDA was rummaging around for some maps of Cashel, we thought there was something afoot. It turns out that Cordis Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson company, is to establish a state-of-the-art development and manufacturing facility on the southeast side of Cashel. If plans run their course, the investment will create more than 450 new high-tech positions during the next three years. You can bet some of those employees will live up the street from me.
I'm thinking about shifting some long-term investment into Johnson & Johnson on the heels of this announcement by its subsidiary. It's interesting that a product I might need to treat medical problems associated with coronary artery disease could be made next to the jogging path I use on a weekly basis.
That's the Rock of Cashel from my Flickr photostream. It's been seen on Flickr 1,971 times. Be the 2000th person to click on it and I will buy you a pint in Cashel any time in 2006.
