The ultraportable Asus Eee PC701 is one of the smartest business investments you could make. It boots in five seconds--that's a lot faster than any laptop I own and three times as fast as my Nokia 9500 phone boots up. It runs on 8GB of flash memory--no moving parts to slow you down. Its operating sy stem is Debian which is easily reconfigured to look like Windows on the desktop. The PC 701 sells for less than €400 through Expansys in Ireland. I believe this two-pound special, shot here with me looking at it through its video camera, could be highly recommended by educators who advocate clever ICT in the classroom.
